She Got Next
Introduction:
She Got Next is a project started by 3 adidas interns: Celine Abello (Apparel Designer), Celine Lee (Footwear Designer), and myself (Graphic Designer). We are three female hoopers who grew up seeing the challenges women face within basketball culture and aim to take action in fixing it. Some of these challenges include the too-wide-for-my-shoulders jerseys and the “nobody cares” comments that flood every women’s basketball post on social media. Originally a proposal for adidas FW’21 Women’s Basketball collection, this project evolved to have a bigger purpose - to celebrate women in basketball culture.
Our deliverables for this 3-month project include a 3 footwear designs, 6-piece apparel collection, a process book, and an event activation.
My main responsibilities for this project include graphic design, motion design, publication design, copywriting, branding, marketing, photography, and environment design. However, with such a small team, I often took on other non-design roles - from project manager to event producer - which allowed me to learn a wide range of different skills.
Mission Statement:
With all eyes on her, our mission is to empower women to feel elevated, confident, and unapologetic, on and off the court. Being part of this community we have the responsibility to create the tools for every female hooper to break necks, break ankles, and break barriers 24/7/365.
All of our designs are based on the three pillars: elevated, confident, and unapologetic.
