Mandarin 1 Year Anniversary
Mandarin is a Chinese band formed in Shanghai in 2019. The band consists of three members (Chace, An Yu, and Xiao Jun) and their music genre includes alternative rock, experimental electronic, and dance.
Challenge: For their 1 year anniversary, Mandarin hosted an afterparty at Bar Lotus. They needed digital invites and drink menus that align with their dystopian and minimalistic aesthetic.
Outcome: I designed a digital invite that was shareable on social media (Wechat, Weibo, Instagram) incorporating Mandarin’s main color - red. The design is inspired by the artwork of songs Echo and Asa, both involving the moon. The drink menu is inspired by the minimalistic style of upscale Japanese restaurant menus.

Challenge: Working with Sundays with Anka to create a set of logos for both Cornerstone’s corporate and laundromat businesses that represents their three brand values - thoughtful, dependable, neighborly.
Outcome: The Cornerstone Laundromat logo is inspired by the opening of the washing machine and the Cornerstone corporate logo is a combination of letters C and S arranged in the form of folded towels.

We wanted to show that Dialog was a youthful, quality brand that has a deep cultural understanding of both the East and West.
Second Nature

With a growing number of fitness enthusiasts in China and little to no local sports nutrition brands, Second Nature sees this as an opportunity to create a line of plant-based protein products that is catered to the Asian market’s needs and want.
Challenge: Second Nature is a start-up brand and needs a set of brand guidelines to set up their visuals.
Outcome: I designed 3-4 posters per week for the club and in order to differentiate its visuals from other hip-hop clubs, used images and design styles that showed stronger understanding of Western hip-hop culture.
